THE NERVOUS SYSTEM
Learn how breathing, arousal, stress responses, and somatic cues influence a participant's experience. Study screening, pacing, choice, and responsible adaptation.
We have more access to information about human behaviour than ever before.
People can identify their patterns and understand where their responses come from. Yet that awareness doesn't always change what happens when they're under pressure.
Because change involves more than conscious understanding.
The nervous system plays a role in how we respond to stress and perceived safety. Subconscious processes influence learned associations and automatic responses.
Both matter when we're working with the human experience.
This is why the Somna Method brings nervous system-informed facilitation together with hypnotic communication and breathwork.
It gives practitioners a structured way to work with the experience itself, beyond conversation and intellectual insight.
This is the foundation of The Art of Facilitation.
Perhaps you've experienced a moment where someone's presence changed the way you felt.
A voice that helped you settle.
An experience that stayed with you long after it ended.
And somewhere along the way, you began wondering what it would mean to create that kind of space for someone else.
Or perhaps you're already working with people. You understand the power of conversation. You've witnessed what happens when someone recognizes a familiar pattern.
And you sense another dimension of your work is ready to emerge.
Somna is an invitation to study that dimension.
To understand the relationship between the subconscious mind and the nervous system. To develop your presence as a facilitator. To learn how to guide The Somna Journey with intention and discernment.
Welcome to The Art of Facilitation.
The Art of Facilitation is a five-month immersive certification in the Somna Method.
You'll learn the principles behind nervous system-informed facilitation and subconscious processes, then explore their practical application through breathwork and hypnotic communication.
Through prerecorded education, a comprehensive practitioner manual, live mentorship, structured peer practice, and practical assessment, you'll develop the skills to facilitate The Somna Journey in private and small-group settings.
This is an education in the method and the thinking behind it.
A Somna Journey is an intentionally composed experience.
Every breath has a purpose.
Every transition is considered.
The language creates invitations.
The music shapes the atmosphere.
And the facilitator learns to remain responsive to the human being within the experience.
The Somna Method provides the structure.
Your presence brings the experience to life.
Learn how breathing, arousal, stress responses, and somatic cues influence a participant's experience. Study screening, pacing, choice, and responsible adaptation.
Explore learned associations, automatic responses, attention, and the relationship between conscious understanding and habitual patterns.
Study focused attention, hypnotic communication, suggestion, and visualization. Develop invitational language within guided Somna experiences.
Learn breath physiology, the two Somna breaths, and the Somna Breath Wave, including how and when to adapt intensity.
The Somna Infinity Arc™ brings the foundations into one structured journey, supported by somatic awareness and The Art of Sound™.
Eight phases. One continuous journey.
Each phase has a distinct intention. Together, they create a coherent progression through preparation, guided experience, and integration.
Explore the phases below.
Establish safety, consent, orientation, and choice before beginning.
The sequence is a framework for facilitation, not a requirement for participants to experience a particular emotional outcome.
Music changes the atmosphere of a room. It can influence how someone experiences time, movement, and emotion.
Inside Somna, music becomes part of the facilitation itself.
You'll learn to curate a journey with the intentionality of an artist. To understand how sound interacts with breath. To recognize when an experience calls for intensity, and when it calls for space.
You'll study sequencing, tempo, transitions, and silence. You'll learn to select music with purpose and adapt your choices to support the experience as a whole.
The art of facilitation lives as much in what you allow as in what you create.
There is a difference between understanding a method and knowing how to guide someone through it.
You can study the breath. You can understand the nervous system.
And then there is the experience of bringing that knowledge into a room with another human being.
Of listening to what is happening. Of recognizing when to guide and when to create space. Of understanding how your own presence influences the experience you're facilitating.
This is where education becomes artistry.
Inside The Art of Facilitation, you'll study the Somna Method from the inside out. You'll experience the principles you're learning and develop the discernment to apply them responsibly.

I spent 18 years working as a nurse, including seven years in mental health and addictions.
I've spent more than 15 years studying the nervous system and subconscious mind, exploring how human beings experience change and what becomes possible when we include the body in that process.
My education has taken me through somatics, hypnotherapy, NLP, Rapid Resolution Therapy, and trauma-informed approaches to working with human experience.
But some of my most important lessons came from being the person inside the experience.
From understanding what it feels like to be pushed beyond your capacity. From recognizing the difference between being guided and being given genuine choice.
And from discovering that the most powerful facilitator in the room isn't necessarily the person doing the most.
Sometimes, it's the person who knows how to listen.
Somna is the culmination of that work.
A method shaped by my professional education, lived experience, and belief that facilitation is an art worth studying.
I created The Art of Facilitation to teach you the method I've developed and the thinking that informs every part of it.
I'm inviting you to become a student of the experience itself.
In creation,
Meghan
